The flavors are still fig-based, but they blend real fruit jams with the figs to mix things up. Consequently, they aren’t as “nutty” in flavor as in years past, but they still have a hearty bite. The inside is a thick fruit paste, which is quite similar to a Fig Newton, but with a more genuine fig taste. They have changed their formula a little over the years – for example, the ingredients used to include oat bran. ![]() Nature’s Bakery Fig Bars come in a Rainbow of Wholesome FlavorsĮach cookie-like bar has a wholesome, lightly-sweetened shell made from whole wheat flour and rolled oats. It actually amazes me that I frequently find them on sale for 50 cents, and have even been able to buy them in Europe! They’re heftier, heartier, and more richly flavored with real ingredients. ![]() Nature’s Bakery Fig Bars are like Fig Newtons, only much better in our opinion. We buy them often for a quick sweet-snack hybrid that’s easy to share, since they come two to a pack. In fact, I did include them on my Top Tasty Bars for Road Trips round up. If I started giving out dairy-free snack food awards, Nature’s Bakery Fig Bars would definitely win for the most affordable, tasty, wholesome treat.
